PHP Add Text To Image

This tutorial is not going to show you how to do anything fancy, like wavy text, frilly borders, or get into distorting methods used in captcha images, etc...; we're going to make a gray background so you can see the image boundaries, and plain old run of the mill white text (to contrast the gray background). I'm here to show you how to start. Where you go from there is up to you.
